Nikos was a fabulous host and tour guide. The boat well appointed and very clean. Local baked goods were a lovely touch. We had bad weather, though the sun was shining. Rough seas and no wind. Daughters ended up sea sick. The wildlife refuge island was a win, though, with swimming and paddle boarding. If we had it to do over, I would have asked about the wind forecast before boarding. Nikos, we wish you all the best with your business. Much success!

Our boat day with Nikos was great! We chose the 7 hour tour and it was perfect. We were a group of six girls and Nikos was a super nice guide/ captain! He showed us the most beautiful places and the food was delicious. We were able to swim and and snorkle a couple of times at beautiful places. One of friend got seasick and even then he was super calm and relaxed and really friendly. Overall a great day, would recommend 100/100

A great day’s sailing with Nikos. A lovely, interesting guy with lots of tales and great knowledge on the area and it’s history and who is also very happy to impart his sailing tips refreshing my rusty knowledge and get you involved hands on, if you want. My daughter Sophie and son Charlie were very impressed with his bluetooth set up and letting them blast their music … which he claimed to like! An amazing afternoon onboard the yacht with our Captain Nikos. Five of us had a great time sailing, swimming and paddle boarding before watching the sunset. So many memorable moments and great insight from Nikos about Crete. Many thanks from the Simpsons! Happy Sailing.

Απερίγραπτη εμπειρία ..Δεν έχω λόγια να το περιγράψω ..Ο skipper μας ο Νίκος ενας εκλεκτισμενος άνθρωπος με τεράστια γκαμα γνώσεών μας έμαθε πολλά ιστορικά γεγονότα για το παλιό λιμάνι των Χανίων και φυσικά για την ιστιοπλοια.Αν μας ξαναβγάλει ο δρόμος μας στα Χανιά σίγουρα θα ξαναειδωθουμε μαζί του .

Our day with Nikos couldn’t have been nicer. In advance he was so easy to deal with (be sure to book!) by WhatsApp. We chose to go on the sail boat and it was such a relaxing way to enjoy the water and the local spots. Nikos is a wonderful, funny guy and so easy to get on with. Couldn’t recommend more!

Amazing exprience !! We (7 friends) spend the whole day on Nikos's boat and had a really great time. Drinks, cretan food and incredible spots to do snorkeling are waiting for you. Nikos was very available and recommended us some adresses, bars et visits to do in Crete. We recommend this trip without any hesitation ! I regret that I must decline the wedding though ;) We wish you the best and hope to see you again !

We booked a 3 hours private sunset sailing trip from Chania with my fiancee and it was the best moment of our trip to Crete. Nikos & Natalia were incredibly kind and friendly with us. They shared a lot of stories about the island and we feel very confortable with them. They gave us equipments to do snorkelling and paddle, beverages (bier, wine, etc.) and Meze, it was perfect ! We looked for different compagnies but they are definitely the BEST ONE !

We had rented a boat for half a day and absolutely loved it. Easy on line booking. Over the phone and in person the friendliest most helpful staff. Amazing experience, best way to get to Seitan limania. Located in the most charming little town with local, fresh tavernas. Highly recommended experience.

I absolutely loved this tour, we stopped by 3 or 4 areas to swim, and our guide provided food, drinks, and swim gear. He taught us about χανιά and crete history, and took us to some popular, and hidden gems off the coast of north-western crete. He was such a hospitable, informative, intelligent, and outgoing tour guide, and an amazing person, and you should do this tour if you are staying in Hania.

I had a fantastic day of sailing with Nikos - informative, lots of swimming, private beaches. Very fun!

I've made a good sailing in corsica one day, but this was before i got on a ship with Nikos : he's the most amazing skipper. His sailing is smooth and natural, you feel immediatly at ease with his friendly and funny nature, this is an out of time experience, for a few hours you put all your problems and links to the earth aside, i even forgot about all the money i've lost on cryptos... the day was therapeutic . The ship is super clean, like a home. The tour was amazing, we had all the time we wanted, to dive, do snorkling, swim. nikos never nods at his watch! i'm pretty sure he doesn't even wear one. I just felt i was spending a day with a buddy, talking about anything. The lunch was super nice. That was the most beatiful birthday gift i could have dreamt of. Did I forget to talk about the beautiful bay ? no need.... if you plan to go to creta and sail there, you already know it's beautiful

We have sailed with Nikos and Notos sailing for couple of times. Everytime is is and excellent experience! Nikos is a very good and safe captain and an excellent host. He makes sure everyone is enjoying the trip! We were enjoying the sailing and some nice drinks on the boat. We also had a swim break and there is a SUP board on the boat that guests can use. Absolutely amazing and fun experience! Highly recommend!

Absolutely phenomenal. We felt like we spent the day on the boat with a friend. If you want a warm, funny, kind, wonderful skipper, Nikos is your guy. A true gem. He had amazing equipment on board (paddle board, snorkels are what we used) and kindly kept the wine cold and flowing. We played some amazing music, kicked back, and were shown some absolutely amazing beaches. We even snorkeled over the remains of a downed WW2 aircraft. Nikos has so many amazing stories about the island of Crete, and it really was wonderful to get such an authentic and refreshing perspective on the rich history of Crete and Chania. It was just the perfect way we wanted to spend the day, we feel so lucky we found Nikos!

Nikos is an amazing skipper. We had so much fun on the boat together. We discovered and enjoy some unique corners of Crete. We learnt also a bit of sailing and we used the Sup. Food was local, delicious and veggie. Nikos is an open mind person, he traveled the world and he makes this experience truly unique. If I could I would still be on the boat.

It was literally my best sailing experience in my whole life. Nikos, the skipper, will happily tell you all about sailing and you will realize why sailing is one of the best activities to medidate, yes, quite literally. What a fantastic day trip. Very family friendly, comfortable and informative. If you want to go sailing in Chania, this is definitely the boat you want to hire. It also helps that Captain Nikos speaks Greek, English, German and a little bit of many other languages!

The whole experience was amazing! Nikos was a great skipper, very informative and went the extra mile for us. I even dropped my glasses into the sea and had no hope of finding them. A Must do item to put on your itinerary whilst in Crete. My wife and I have been out for a full day with Nikos every year since 2016. One year we did 2 full day sails one with Nikos and one on another boat. Nikos is a stand out as the best and most friendly informative skipper by a mile. We now regard him as a friend. Last year we flew our son over from Oz and our other son from the UK to Crete with their girlfriends and we booked Nikos and it was their unanimous favourite day of the holiday. By the end of the day even the ones who were a little fearful of the sea were jumping off the back of the boat in locations where it was just us with a whole bay to ourselves. Many of the locations Nikos takes us to are not accessible by land. Ozzies don't like jumping of boats into deep crystal clear blue sea. Cannot think why?? Nikos keeps you entertained throughout the day and is totally sensitive to your needs. Beautiful boat, great chat and information about all of the islands, forts and wildlife. I think he has really helped us make our minds up to retire to Crete. I cannot recommend the trip the boat and Nikos highly enough. See you next year our friend. Best wishes Steve and Jane

Nous avons passé une demi journée (24/08/2020) au top avec Nikos! Nous avons fait cette sortie en couple. Etant enceinte, Nikos a été très prévenant avec moi, à mon écoute. Amazing day ! Loved the snorkelling and jumping off the boat. We even saw a small octopus ! Nikos was a wonderful host for the trip.

Enjoyed an incredibly fun and relaxing sail with Captain Nikos - both informative and safe, he taught us sailing on the seas as well as the history of Chania and the surrounding isles. We had such a great day with Nikos. We learned more about this stunning island from him than we ever would from a guide book. He was the perfect host, providing easy company. He took us to some great spots for swimming and snorkelling away from crowds. We spent a day with Nikos exploring the south west coast out of Hora Sfakia and the family are unanimous that it was the single best day of the holiday. We had plenty of time to swim off the boat and onto some great beaches only accessible by foot or boat that otherwise we would never have visited. The kids loved the clarity of the water and repeatedly jumping off the boat. We also had a great couple of hours just sailing in near perfect beginner conditions - the teenagers learnt the basics from Nikos and others enjoyed the sunbathing at the front of the boat - complete bliss! Nikos is an exceptional host and very experienced skipper who has loads of local knowledge and contacts (booked us a great taverna at Marmara for lunch - again accessible only by foot or boat). He is also fantastic with kids - gave the teenagers and our 9 year old an impromptu SUP (paddleboard) lesson at Loutro whilst the parents watched over a glass of wine from a shore-side taverna. I cannot recommend this enough as a family day out. Thank you Nikos for your hospitality.

Decisamente l'esperienza più bella di due settimane di vacanza a Creta. Nikos professionale ed amichevole al tempo stesso, uno skipper che ama quello che fa e si diverte con i passeggeri! Ci ha fatto sentire a nostro agio, quasi come fossimo amici da tempo, raccontandoci diversi anedotti storici, facendoci scoprire magnifici scorci di Creta e addirittura "iniziandoci" alla navigazione a vela... Non vorrete più scendere dalla barca!

Captain Nikos was a great skipper and provided us an amazing day at sea! We had some introduction in sailing and made stops at great places to swim and to see beaches and small villages which are only accessible by boat.

There is no words that can compliment enough the experience we had with Nikos. It was, from far, the best day of our trip in Crete (and everyday was a perfect day really). The weather wasn't great on the day we picked, so Nikos came out with a new itinerary with beautiful suggestions which we really appreciated. We didnt feel like clients, Nikos is incredibly warm, generous and interesting. When we left Crete we left a friend behind ; Nikos, we really hope to see you again in the future. We can't thank you enough, we recommend this sailing trip immensely.

After seeing the great reviews, I felt this couldn't be missed. I was travelling solo, and Nikos was a great host and great company. I was staying in the North and the boat was based in the south during my trip. I'm so glad Nikos persuaded me to drive over. Sailing the areas of the south that you can only get to by boat, was simply stunning. Nikos has a wealth of information not just on Crete but on all the islands. A great day out on a gorgeous boat with a fantastic host. A must do if visiting Crete. Made my holiday.

Περάσαμε μια θαυμάσια μέρα με τον Νίκο! Είναι εκπληκτικός οικοδεσπότης, καταρτισμένος ξεναγός, (μάθαμε τόσα πράγματα που δε γνωρίζαμε για τα μέρη που επισκεφτήκαμε), το ιστιοπλοϊκό το αγαπήσαμε, τις παραλίες τις λατρέψαμε όλες μία μία! Του χρόνου θέλουμε περισσότερο από μονοήμερη!

Selbst Ende Oktober kann man in Chania auf Kreta noch einen wunderbaren Segel- und Badetag genießen. Nikos erzählt in sehr gutem Deutsch die Geschichte der Stadt und der Insel. Er erklärt geduldig wie man segelt. Ich bin auch tatsächlich einige Zeit unter seiner Anleitung gesegelt und habe auch einige Segelmanöver machen können.

We all had a superb and fun day sailing with Nikos. Nikos was very generous and informative with his knowledge on sailing and the history of Crete. The boat is beautifully kept with plenty of opportunity to use the upper and lower deck. The day was topped off by the delicious food and fabulous spots to swim and snorkel. Thank you Nikos, the day was without a doubt the highlight of our Cretan holiday.

Gesegelt sind wir auf Nikos' Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40ft, die Yacht ist in gepflegtem Zustand. Da wir 2 Leute mit etwas Segelerfahrung an Bord hatten, hat uns Nikos zu Beginn des Törns gefragt ob wir auch etwas lernen wollen - das haben wir natürlich bejaht. Und so wurden wir mit vielen interessanten Stories aus Nikos' Leben als Skipper und Abenteurer bereichert (Freediving kann er übrigens auch sehr gut, was sehr praktisch war als ich den Schnorchel meiner Tauchermaske verlor und der in 6m Tiefe auf dem Meeresgrund lag). Mein Bruder (deutscher SKS-Schein) durfte auf dem Boot ordentlich zur Hand gehen. u.A. Leinenarbeit bei Ab-/Anlegemanöver, Segel setzen/bergen, Steuern, Wenden, Vor- und Großschoten bedienen. Der Wind war mit Beaufort 3 recht entspannt. Wir haben 3 mal Anker gesetzt um zu Schnorcheln und dabei einige Fische, einen Oktopus, eine kleine Muräne und eine abgestürzte Junkers Ju 52 gesehen. Beim Umsegeln der Kri-Kri Insel hatten wir sogar das Glück eine der vom Aussterben bedrohten Ziegen zu Gesicht zu bekommen. Während des Ausflugs versorgte Nikos uns mit frischem Obst, köstlichem kretischen Gebäck und kühlem griechischen Bier. Neben interessanten Infos rund um die Geschichte Chanias und Kretas gab er uns am Ende noch viele Tipps für die nächsten Tage in Chania und auch für die nächste Woche an der Südseite Kretas. Fazit: Nikos sagte uns, dass er der Beste Skipper Chanias ist und nach dem tollen Tag glauben wir es ihm :D

Our small group of 6 from Canada had a wonderful day with Nikos. We stopped several times to swim and or snorkel. Plus we had a wonderful meal on the sailboat that he prepared. He provided a colourful commentary on Greece. Plus gave us a great outline of the historical aspects of Crete and Chania. He even let us sail the boat too. Definitely worth the day with great memories

Capt. Nikos was fabulous—knowledgeable, enthusiastic, flexible and fun. He not only let us steer the boat, but gave us a mini sailing lesson. He made the history of Chania interesting and enjoyable. The boat was comfortable and well stocked with food and drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend him to anyone lucky enough to be in Chania.

Δύο ενήλικες και δύο παιδιά 2μιση και 3μιση ετών κάναμε μια mini κρουαζιέρα με τον Κο Νίκο και το ιστιοφόρο του μέχρι τα λαζαρετα...εξαιτίας του καιρού δεν πήγαμε μέχρι τα Θόδωρου που ήταν ο αρχικός προορισμός μας..περάσαμε απίστευτα όμορφα..αφού ενημερώθηκαμε σχετικά με την ιστιοπλοΐα και το συγκεκριμένο ιστιοφορο ξεναγηθηκαμε στο παραλιακό μέτωπο των χανιων..απο το παλιό λιμάνι έως τα λαζαρετα..όπου κολυμπησαμε στα καταγάλανα νερα..σε όλη τη διαρκεια βιώσαμε την κρητική φιλοξενία αφού μας προσέφερε ντόπια εδέσματα και ροφήματα..να τονίσω ότι τέτοια ασφάλεια και σιγουριά που βγάζει αυτός ο καπετάνιος δεν υπαρχει....ήταν μοναδική εμπειρία για όλους μας...

We booked with Captain Nikos for a day of sailing at the end of August this year. The experience was super chill and relaxing. He took us to a couple great spots for swimming and we sailed for a few hours, too. The lunch he provided was perfect! Fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries and home made traditional snacks with plentiful drinks. The boat was in great condition and very comfortable. We'd definitely book with him again if we return to Chania.

Journée du 31 juillet 2019 Famille de 4 avec deux grands ados (17 et 20), nous avons passé une super journée avec Nikos sur son voilier très confortable. Nous avions réservé la journée complète ce qui nous a permis de profiter pleinement de cette magnifique journée de mer et échanger avec Nikos sur pleins de sujets différents. Peu de vent au départ mais heureusement, Eole a été sympa avec nous et juste ce qu'il fallait de vent s'est aussitôt levé pour une journée parfaite au cours de laquelle Nikos a pu également partager avec nous sa grande expérience de navigateur chevronné. Last but not least, baignades, snorkeling...et plein de petits plats délicieux préparés par Nikos. Merci encore pour cette journée qui nous a enchantée tous les quatres !

Nikos met us at the Harbor with 2 bags of treats in hand. The day was magical for the 9 of us, swimming, snorkeling and sailing. It was a beautiful boat. We learned about sailing; we got a history lesson and we laughed a lot. Nikos was adaptable to our wishes, and cared about us having a great time. The drinks and snacks kept coming. He balanced safety with fun. We would highly recommend Nikos for a day of sailing around Chania. Love from the Nudles.

We spent a full day with Nikos on his beautiful yacht. Superb condition and well set up. Plenty of food including fresh fruits, locally backed treats and drinks. The highlight for my wife was swimming in the crystal clear waters of secluded bays. For me were the sailing instructions and being left alone to sail the open ocean. A magic day.

He knew the best places to take us and we saw some beautiful beaches. We made a few stops to swim and to look at caves. We went to a lovely restaurant for lunch. The whole day was breathtaking and was actually the best day on our trip! I can't wait to get back and sail again with Nikos. Highly recommended on your trip to Crete 🙂 PRICES were so reasonable. It was just me and my friend and he tailored the whole trip to what we wanted! Also has all the snorkelling gear, sup boards on the boat so all you need to bring is yourself :)

Really just a perfect day. Nikos was an amazing host. He was very patient with my boat shy friend who was a bit nervous about getting on and off the boat. He was flexible about our itinerary. He prepared a delicious lunch for us. Took us to ridiculously beautiful spots for swimming. Encouraged us to relax, let us take a try at driving the boat. We all loved Crete and this was the best part of it. Worth every penny.

Fantastic day sailing from 10:00 till 17:00. Experienced captain who knows the area and history well. Very relaxed with options what you want to get out of the day. We have done day sails in Barbados, Mauritius, Mexico and elsewhere, this one is probably the best we have discovered. The boat is 40ft Jeanneau oyster circa 2000, very well looked after and comfortable for our party of 6. The highlight of our holiday. We were lucky with a cancellation advised to book ahead of time as not monsters boats in the Chania region at this price/experience. Niko was great with our teenage children and made the day very easy and relaxed.

We booked a sailing trip with Nikos in advance and two days before our booked day Nikos informed us that the expected day would probably have bad weather for sailing. He offered other alternatives to change our day and finally we made it. Trip was really nice, Nikos is a great guy, speaking all the time, giving you extra information about history, the island, other potential plans for the family. Really great experience with Nikos. He offers you fruit, food and drinks during the trip and gives you different alternatives to consider during your trip. An excellent way to discover the island.

Highly recommended. Beautiful clean boat, excellent Captain, Nicos & Natalia spoke great English and entertained us with local knowledge, snacks and drinks. Provided snorkels and masks. Best day of our holiday. Nicos was excellent at entertaining my young son who loved swimming in sea and most of all enjoyed seeing the sunken German wartime plane on the seabed.

Booked with Nikos a month prior to our arrival in Chania. Nikos is very professional and replies promptly and is very informative. We spend 4 wonderful hours in safe hands the best skipper. the weather was not perfect but we really enjoyed ourselves. We swam, snorkeled, in pristine waters. Nikos even let me take control of the sail and controls for a while. food and drinks were provided throughout the trip. Dazu wurden wir mit leckeren lokalen Spezialitäten verwöhnt. Mehrere Zwischenstopps zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln ohne Massen von Touristen um uns herum. Auch wenn es schon ein ganzer Tag war, hätte er gerne viel länger dauern dürfen.

On my vacations in Crete this time I met my friend who leaves there and she introduced me to Nikos. I was rather concerned first, as neither me nor my husband are experienced sailors and it was rather windy and wavy. From our first moment on boat we felt very safe and captain Nikos explained us a few things and ensured that the boat is 100% safe. He served Cretan snacks (it was more than enough)! We spent a wonderful day, did some sailing and got an idea how to rise sales up! I’d recommend this trip to both experienced sailors and totally beginners as we were!

Our small family of husband, wife, and teen daughter had a day out sailing with Niko. His boat was beautiful, he was so friendly, entertaining with all of his Crete knowledge and Cretan family history, and great food and he picks a great wine! Celebrated my 40th Birthday on the boat while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen. The Skipper Nikos couldn't of been nicer/ both a great host and a deep passion for sailing. Sailing with Nikos was amazing. We had 4 kids and 5 adults and we all had a fantastic day. The weather was great for sailing, the boat “Jeanneau” was a beautiful 40 foot yacht and Nikos was a very patient, considerate and very knowledgeable captain - knowledge extending from the remarkable history of Crete to great GoPro tips! He provided us with more than enough, delicious, Greek vegetarian food with beers, wine and soft drinks. The boat does have a motor, so in the case that there is no wind, you can easily get around to all the sights. I would highly recommend a full day out sailing with Nikos. Thank you for a perfect day out.

This was my first time on a sailing boat. Nikos and his sailing excursion was the perfect outing. Nikos is an incredibly talented, fun and hospitable captain. The trip was breathtakingly beautiful - stunning views of the old harbor against a staggering mountain backdrop. I highly recommend this outing, it's definitely 100% worthwhile! Our 4th of July sailing day with Nikos was the perfect coda to our trip to Greece. We were a large group with 5 teenagers who were all smiling at the end of the trip. The water was warm and clear and perfect for swimming around. Nikos was also accommodating, witty and provided us with wonderful homemade appetizers. We went today for a sailing trip with Nikos. We can only recommend when you visit Crete / Chania to book a trip with him as you will have a fantastic Day. Nikos hosted us for a day where he shared with us the History of Chania, Crete and how you really can enjoy Sailing, swimming, snorkeling, enjoying the Sea and surroundings here at Crete. We would have booked another tour but was timely not possible as me and family loved the whole Trip. Nikos est un vrai pro qui vous met à l'aise directement. Une super activité pour adultes et enfants de tous les âges que je vous recommande. Efkaristo Nikos.

During our vacations on Chania we decided to do some sailing with Nikos, as we red good review on this website. So now I am writing my own review too :) It was an excellent day, although it was not much wind Nikos raised the sails up, and when we arrived to the bay we enjoyed swimming and snorkeling, as well as yummy snack he offered. We liked it and hope will have more wind next time we do it ;)

Just back from a trip with Niko, husband and I took the 4 hour trip on his beautiful boat stopping at two islands for swimming and chilling, Niko provides snorkels and noodles (floating rubber bands)if wanted, we stopped over a wreck of an American plane buried deep down,and saw rare mountain goats on a protected island, all around the views are spectacular. Niko is born and bred in Crete so knows everything there is to know and happily shares all his information, feel we really got to know him on the trip chatting about his family and life plans! He's a genuinely nice guy, drinks, fruit and tasty pastries were all provided all delicious. Thanks Niko we would love to do it all again!

This was the first time that my kids have been to Europe (or anywhere across the 'pond' from the US), so we chose Greece. We wanted to make it a trip that they never will forget. So, we took a chance and rented a sailboat with captain Nikos. We were willing to spend a little extra to get a private experience. It was well worth it! He was so great with our kids, by letting them help with the sail, steer, and whatever else needed to be done with the boat. He was also very relaxed on time, giving us a little more time to enjoy the ride. Because he's a long-time local, he knew a lot of history about the city. And the treats were so great! Nikos and his boat are highly recommended.

Spent a half day sailing the Chania harbor and surrounding area with Nikos. He is a great Captain, laid back, super informative on the history of Crete. The sights are spectacular as was Niko's hospitality.

Sehr kurzfristig konnte Nikos uns noch einen Boat Trip anbieten, was problemlos und unkompliziert funktionierte. An Bord wurden wir sofort mit einbezogen und durften mit Hand anlegen. Sehr persönliche und freundschaftliche Betreuung, Nikos wusste viel über die Geschichte Chanias zu erzählen. Er führte uns zu einer einsamen Bucht und ging auf unsere Wünsche und Zeitplan ein (nicht zuviel baden, lieber mehr segeln ⛵️ 🌊🇬🇷). Wir wurden perfekt kulinarisch versorgt und verwöhnt (u.a. vegan) und hatten viel Wissen und tolle Geschichten mitgenommen. Und natürlich eine fantastische Segel-Erfahrung ⛵️😍🌊.

Nikos was an excellent captain who is very experienced, with knowledge of the island and makes you feel at ease. I decided to book this for my partners birthday surprise and he absolutely loved it. We got to stop off at several islands for swimming and snorkelling, seeing many fish and an old WW2 plane wreckage. We enjoyed a delicious lunch with music and laughter. Nikos allowed us plenty of time to relax and enjoy being out on the water. My partner loves sailing and got to take control for most of the day helming the boat. We both thought that the boat was beautiful and in great condition. I definitely recommend this trip as it’s a once in a lifetime experience which made a magical end to our two week adventure in Crete.

As soon as Captain Niko welcomed us at Chania harbour, we knew our expectations would be surpassed. He invited us into his sailing boat and we immediately felt at home. We opted for the 4 hour journey and first sailed off to the islet of Lazaretta. This was an interesting spot for snorkelling as fishing is restricted in this area. Next, we headed to Thodorou, a protected island where Niko showed us a cave from afar and where we snorkelled over the wreckage of an airplane. Niko was wonderful throughout the day and like a true Greek very generous, continuously offering us fresh fruit, pastries and refreshments. My wife and I took a private cruise with Nikos and it was a highlight of our trip. He’s a really chill and relaxed guy with an adventurous soul who goes out of his way to make sure that you have a great time. He’s a born and bred local so he has a lot of great insider knowledge of Crete. He also fed us some great local food and wine and really made us feel at home on his beautiful boat. Try to avoid the big, touristy boats if you can and go with Nikos instead. It’s definitely worth it. We’d love to do it again next time we’re in Crete.

Our family of four spent a day sailing out of Chania with Captain Nikos, an experienced and charming captain. We dropped anchor at at least 4 different locations, including a secluded beach (where Nikos swam 1000 meters with my teenage daughter), a protected island, and a popular Chania swimming spot. Along the way he pointed out landmarks, told us the history of the region and its effect on architecture and culture, and brought us to a sunken WWII German fighter plane on the ocean floor, which we snorkeled to. He provided snorkeling equipment, lively conversation, and the MOST delicious, authentic Cretan lunch on board. Mostly, we loved being on the sea on his beautiful sailboat, swimming whenever we felt like jumping into the clear waters, and getting to know him and hear his stories and opinions on life in Crete. This is a great way to spend a day while in Chania!

We took this sailboat out for the day with Captain Nick and it was amazing. He is the best host!! Took great care of us and provided amazing stories about the history of Crete. His number one rule is NO STRESS!! and he enforced it well. Great Day!! Thank you Captain Nick!!

What an amazing day out! Nikos was so helpful during the whole booking process and was so informative and fun the day we went out. We have 2 teen boys and it's not always the easiest to keep them interested. We have sailed in Spain, Portugal but they said hands down the day out with Niko was their favorite! Can't recommend Nikos enough if you want a fabulous day out on the waters of Greece! We will be back!

I had been communicating with Nikos for several months about spending the day on his sailboat, he was very responsive every step of the way. When the day finally came for our trip it was pretty windy and not a perfect day for sailing, but he was very honest about what to expect and didnt pressure us at all to keep our reservation. We went for it, and had a really fun day on the water. Less wind and more sun would have helped, but he did all he could to make sure we enjoyed our day on the water. Nikos was a great host and captain and I would certainly try again on my next trip to Crete. He even let my friend captain the boat.

After bigger boats with bigger groups on other islands, we wanted to do a more intimate boat trip and Nikos was a perfect fit. He shared so much insight into Greek history, Crete, and himself; it truly enhanced our trip. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer; always ready with some humor too. He and our 19 year old daughter shared stories of trips to India and Thailand. He was a great sounding board for her as she contemplates a vagabond life. His manner of doing business is extremely professional - he communicated well during the planning, the boat was in perfect condition, he tried hard to get us under sail even though conditions weren't ideal, he showed us some interesting spots, he is a gentleman of a host serving delectable pastries and yummy exotic fruits. He is a calm soul and true pleasure to be around.

We would highly recommend using Nikos if interested in sailing from Chania. Knowledgeable, friendly and very easy going it was a day well spent.

Nähtiin myös delfiinejä sekä viimeisellä uintipaikalla parvitolkulla muita kaloja. Aikaisempaa purjehduskokemusta ei tarvita, mutta uimataitoa kyllä, sillä tällä reissulla ei jalat yltäneet kertaakaan pohjaan 😊 Jos Kreetalla haluaa yhden opastetun ohjelman suorittaa niin kyllä se on tämä!

We had an awesome day sail with Captain Nikos on the beautiful boat out of Chania harbor last week. The scenery is just incredible on this voyage, and Nikos gave us an amazing tour. We sailed to several beautiful islands where we swam and enjoyed the absolute best views of Chania and the Venetian harbor that you can see on our return. This was a sail we'll never forget, and Captain Nikos was awesome in his knowledge of sailing, the history of the area, and the local eateries worth checking out. He provided us with delicious snacks of fresh fruit and local baked treats in addition to some tasty beverages. This was definitely a high light of our trip to Crete!

Captain Nikkos gave us the best sailing around Crete and we had such a good family day out. We even saw Dolphins!! He also made the best lunch :)

Day sailing with Nikos was a surprise for our 76 year old grandmother (Polish babcia). Babcia took charge of the wheel and 'drove' us to the island.... she loved the experience. The whole day was perfect with Nikos as a knowledgeable and flexible host. Would recommend the experience 100%.

Nikos took my brother and me for a sail and we had a great day. He knows so much about the history of Crete and life itself. He also recommended a couple of non tourists restaurants that didn't disappoint us ( wonderful local food and great value. Slower service but authentic attention 👍). We were a group of 6 friends who went out sailing for a day with Nikos. Had a brilliant day, not much wind for sailing but everything else was perfect. Nikos was very flexible with where we went and what we did. Stopped at a couple of spots for some snorkeling and then sailed to the next spot. Served food on board which was all lovely and plenty of food for 6 of us. Nikos was full of knowledge and stories and great company. Would recommend 100%

That was probably the best day of our holidays. Captain Nikos was telling us interesting stories about pirates and we really thought that one of his grandfathers was one of them. He manages the boat perfectly and made us feel very welcomed and relax on board. At kri - kri island after a nice and refreshing swim at airplane wreck spot we had served some traditional cretan snack. The only bad thing we missed this day was a wind which would help us to do more sailing. So we are looking forward to come back again.

We spent 7 hours on a day sail from Chania Harbor out to Souda Bay and then to a few islands. The swimming was divine. There was an interesting wreck to explore by snorkeling. Wish we had a little more wind, but that's no one's fault. The late lunch was delicious and accompanied by a local wine. Nikos is a friendly fellow who knows how to make his guests feel comfortable and at home. He started the trip with a brief history of Chania and Crete that was very interesting. He was a font of local information. Great sense of humor, too. This was the highlight of our trip to Chania - highly recommended.

We sailed, we swam we were given a lesson on the history of crete and of course eating and drinking. There was 7 of us and my lad was used as first mate. Nikos supplied loveley food and wine, beer and soft drinks for the kids. Taking us out is not work to this guy, he lives and breathes being on the water. Give him a go, you wont regret it.

We had an amazing day trip with Nikos, which was a present from my girlfriend for my birthday. He told us all about the history of Chania, took us to the best snorkeling spots and was a friendly & funny guy - easy to spend a lot of time with. He provided a tasty greek buffet & beers, gave us tips & stories about sailing, showed us a sunken plane from WW2 and we even held an octopus! Highly recommended - we saw boats full of 150 people, made us so glad we chose a private boat. Take suncream!

Captain Nikos welcomed us on board and made us feel very very comfortable. He said we had enough wind to enjoy sailing, so right after the first stop we put sails up and started to Kri - Kri island. It was just an amazing trip, we were enjoying sailing and captain explained us basic stuff of sea navigation. Than we had light lunch, fruits, wine and Cretan pies! Everything tastes so good on board! It was defenetly highlight of our stay in Chania

We had a wonderful trip with Nikos and his beautiful sailing boat during our stay near Chania. Although the waves were quite big we had lots of fun with our attentive and charming skipper who is just living his dream on the sailing boat! We got told very inspiring and interesting stories and had two little swimming stops together, too. Wow, wow, wow. We had an intensely beautiful and relaxing day sailing off of Chania with Captain Nikos. First we went to a tiny little off--the-map cove with crystal clear water, some rocks and fishies, and a pristine beach. Then we sailed west for a couple of hours and got a close look at Kri Kri Island, where the native goats are being restored. Finally we sailed back to Chania. Nikos was full of stories and history about Chania and the local area and answered all of our questions. He also provided some beautiful vegan small plates, fruit, and wine for us. We could not have asked for more!

Booked this trip for my boyfriend and I during our stay in Chania. Excellent correspondence from the beginning from Nikos and was easy to find the location. We had a lovely four hour sailing trip and it was well worth the money. Nikos is very knowledgeable about Crete so we also got a free history lesson thrown into the mix. Had some pastries and beer for lunch and a little swim and my partner got to steer the boat when we got the sails up. Nikos was an excellent host throughout the day. We rented Nikos boat (boat + Nikos) for a daytrip in the area around Chania's old harbour. We went to three locations for some snorkeling and swimming. During the trip drinks and food were supplied, especially at noon a table with nice pure food was presented. Super relaxing trip on the sea, pure bliss. Don't forget to use sunlotion ! Big thumbs up for Nikos !

My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful afternoon sailing with Nikos, who let us manouevre the boat as my boyfriend has some experience in it. Was both good for him to brush up his skills as well as enjoy the sea! Nikos was super accommodating and friendly, which made the trip truly enjoyable and we have already promised to come back for more next year :) Highly recommend!

Es war wirklich phantastisch und außergewöhnlich. Der Skipper und Inhaber des Schiffes Nikos war äußerst freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Er hat uns alles sehr gut und spannend erklärt. Die Geschichte des Hafens, Kretas etc. Es gab gleich zur Begrüßung einen sehr leckeren griechischen Käsekuchen. Dann fuhren wir durch den alten Hafen und dann gleich unter Segeln aufs Meer. Wir steuerten zwei Inseln an und hatten genügend Zeit zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln (Schnorchel gab es auf dem Boot) in den glasklaren schönen warmen Wasser. Mittags gab es eine schmackhafte Brotzeit/Imbiss mit vielen griechischen Spezialitäten und einen sehr guten griechischen Weißwein. Die Tagestour dauert ca. 7 Stunden und ist ihr Geld auf jeden Fall wert. Es ist einfach besonders, die Insel von der Wasserseite aus zu sehen und was unseren Ausflug noch besonderer machte ist die persönliche und freundliche, ja fast freundschaftliche, Betreuung durch Nikos, der uns zum Schluß auch noch ein paar sehr gute Restaurant Tipps gegeben hat. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und machen den gleichen Ausflug noch einmal.

My wife and I went out with Captain Nikos and had a blast! We went to several different beaches and islands and there were multiple stops for swimming and snorkeling. The water is beautiful and there are a lot of cool reefs to see. The Captain himself was so funny and a great companion on the trip, he always had a good joke or an interesting piece of information to convey. The water was a little choppy because of the weather, but Captain Nikos kept things bearable. He also served a great lunch as well and let my wife steer the boat which she really enjoyed. I have been on a few charters and this was a great one!

We never sailed before and now we want to sail forever! Niko is not only a great Skipper, he is a real personality. We felt very welcome on Board, as he also speaks english and german communicating was great. He explained us sailing basics, all about the Islands history and we had refreshing talks about a lot of interesting topics. Highly recommended!

Great day sailing with Nikos. We had a good day out in high seas, 4m + swell. Nikos was great, made us feel comfortable on his yacht. A few wave troughs higher than expected but our captain and his yacht rode them no problem. A safe and exciting opportunity, great company, good simple food, beer and wine. Turen med Nikos på havet utenfor Chania var en utrolig fin tur. Han fortalte oss om historien til øya og bygninger ved havna. Veldig lærerikt! Vi fikk alle være med og hjelpe til med seiling og styring av båten, som var veldig fint. Stedene var vakre og maten var veldig god! Vi fikk sett krikri-geiter og flyvrak fra 2. VK. Super tur! Anbefales på det sterkeste :)

True story: My partner and I were staying in Malia for a week and I wanted to do something special for him so I secretly booked an all day boat trip with rockstar Captain Nikos. We had to drive from Malia to Chania which I didn't realize was quite so far. My bad. We showed up an hour late and Cp Nikos was just chilling on the boat waiting for us no worries. Then, after an amazing day of swimming and sailing and a gorgeous spread of spanakopita and bruschetta and olives (beer and wine too) provided by Nikos we realized coming back into port at about 5pm that we were totally beat and still had to drive winding road 2+ hrs back to Malia. Nikos wouldn't hear of it! He called his girlfriend who found us a lovely little room in Chania Old Town just for the night (during tourist season mind you) for 30 euros and then Nikos gave us the names of bars and restaurants to go to for dinner and breakfast the next day. True story. Amazing sailing, host, sights, history, food...DO NOT MISS THIS.

Had an amazing day sailing with skipper Nikos! Had the whole boat for the 3 of us. Lots of Crete history from Nikos, stopped at 3 locations, had a delicious spread of food! What a wonderful day we spent with Nikos on his beautiful sailing boat. We sailed, we ate a lovely lunch provided by our entertaining skipper, we swam in the beautiful turquoise sea, we circled Kri Kri Island, visited a secret beach and snorkelled over a WWII plane wreck. A very relaxing day, filled with much laughter. Nikos shared his wide knowledge of Cretan history, taught us a little about sailing and allowed us to take the helm. Our day was such a treat and I can't recommend this trip highly enough.

My sister and I spent a day sailing with Captain Nikos. He was everything you would expect a Cretan Sea Captain to be. Handsome, funny, highly intelligent with a deep understanding of Cretan history, culture, food and music, all of which he is happy to share with you. The day offered the opportunity to swim in pristine water, in private bays at your own pace. Great value for money.

Nick was extremely friendly and nice, the trip's direction and things to do was totally up to us. We had such a nice day jumping in the ocean for a dive, sitting on the front of the boat feeling the breeze. Nick even brought us greek snack and fruit. It was such a lovely day on the ocean.

I booked with Nikos and he was so helpful and friendly. My family of 6 arrived at the harbour in Chania and off we set. We had an amazing day, hearing all about the fascinating history of Crete and dropping anchor at some great little spots for swimming and snorkeling. Nikos is such a brilliant guy and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. We had a lovely lunch on board and a few glasses of wine too. If we ever go back to Chania, which I am absolutely sure we will because it is so beautiful, we will definitely get in touch with Nikos again. Top fella, good value for money and a great day out. What at wonderful day at sea! The captain is an encyclopedia of knowledge about Crete history, and the beginning of the sail was a beautiful history lesson, surrounded by serene blue waters, sunshine and a bit of wind. As we sailed out of the harbor, we had to motor as the wind was not blowing much, so we had a chance to get to know our host, and our fellow travelers. We took off to an island that had keekee (goats) to see if we could see the elusive protected animals, and we sailed around it looking for wind. No goats, but we found the wine, the beer, the snacks, and the great greecian hospitality. We found the wind and tacked ourselves across the bay, luckily the sun was out, but the wind was chilly, so our able captain went below decks and brought up warm clothing for us to don and enjoy the sail. He served us local snack food, some of the best cherry tomatoes I have ever eaten, and some hand pies, did I mention the wine and beer? This gentleman was the best. I hope that you look him up and get to go with him. It is an easy taxi ride from the pier to his dock, and the driver came back and picked us up at the end of the sail. Allow time to explore this pier area as well, lots of nooks and cranny shops up the hill behind the big blue hotel, that are local owned.

Really something that everybody has to try at least once! The spectacular landscape accompanied with the five star service of Nikos and Manolis make it a lifetime experience.

We had booked for a Tuesday, but the weather was not great and Nicos the skipper was very understanding about changing the day. Luckily for us he was able to take us out on the Thursday and we definitely made the right decision. The sea was calm, the wind was gentle but enough to take us out across the bay and back. Just a short stretch with the motor initially. We visited several beaches for snorkelling/swimming and saw the rare Kri Kri goats on one of the islands. There is also a German bomber in good condition on a sandy sea floor in just 5mt water. Really interesting. Nicos made us a great light lunch with beer or wine and gave us a great insight into the local history. All in all a very relaxing day, with the opportunity to have a go at helm and rigging if you so wished. I would highly recommend a trip with Nicos.

We spend a wonderful day with Nikos ' the skipper. The arrangements in advance went smoothly and contact with him was enjoyable. The children were enchanted by his stories about pirates, and felt 'king of the world' when they were allowed steering the boat. We sailed to three beautiful places a small beach, a bay at Kri-Kri island and Lazaretta island. The appetizers, the wine , the beautiful weather and Nikos ' Cretan motto 'slowly,slowly' made ​​our day unforgettable. Thanks again Nikos!

Auf Grund der guten Bewertungen haben wir uns für eine Segeltour mit Skipper Nikos. Morgens um 10 ging's dann auch schon los. Zuerst sind wir mit Hilfe des Schiffsmotors (es gab nur wenig Wind) in eine kleine Bucht zum Schnorcheln gefahren. Der Wind kam dann gegen Mittag und wir konnten die Segel Richtung Krikri-Insel hissen. Eine Stunde später waren wir auch schon dort und könnten über einem abgestürzten Weltkriegsflugzeug schnorcheln. Auch eine der berühmten Krikri-Ziegen haben wir zu Gesicht bekommen. Nach einem leckeren Mittagessen ging's auf die letze Etappe zu einer kleinen Insel wo wir inmitten vieler Fische schnorcheln konnten.

Als Festlandpiraten waren wir durch den vielen Wind in den Tagen vor unserem gebuchten Ausflug etwas verunsichert. An unserem Segeltag war die Angst aber dann unnötig. Mit viel Motor und nur ein wenig segeln war alles bestens, der Skipper hat sogar eine Seekrankheits-Tablette an Bord und kann die zur Einnahme abgeben ;-) Nikos konnte uns viel Spannendes über die Geschichte Kretas, Chania und der Umgebung erzählen, so dass wir ohne es zu merken schon beim ersten Badeplatz angekommen waren. Wegen der Wolken war das Wasser nicht ganz so strahlend blau, aber wie von Nikos angekündigt verzogen sich die Wolken gegen halb 12 und der weitere Verlauf des Tages konnten wir unter dunkelblauem Himmel geniessen. Einige Kri-Kri haben wir gesehen, imposante Tiere mit ihren grossen Hörnern! Nach einem erneuten Badestopp mit Unterwassser-Geschichte hat Nikos uns dann ein tolles Mittagessen gezaubert und über dem vielen Erzählen haben wir etwas die Zeit vergessen und mussten dann doch wieder los fahren in Richtung Chania wo ein letzter Badestopp im warmen Meer (mit tollen, blauen Fischen) den wunderbaren Tag abschloss. Danke Nikos für diesen unvergesslichen Tag! Wir können diesen Ausflug ohne Einschränkung empfehlen! Viel Spass dabei!

We rent this beautiful Sailing Ship twice - in July 2013 and 2015 by 3 and 5 people. Lovely man and skipper Nikos. An excellent companion with a great sense of humor. He loves his yacht and his work. It is for him a house and a wife :) Great food and drinks. Thank you Nikos!

Meine Freundin und ich waren zum ersten Mal auf Kreta und wir wollten gern auch den ein oder anderen Ausflug machen. Da wir nichts richtiges im Vorfeld gefunden haben und ich auf Grund meines Hobbys gern auch vor Kreta mal einen Tag segeln wollte, kamen wir nach einiger Recherche auf Nikos und sein boot. Die bisherigen Bewertungen klangen gut und so nahm ich mit Nikos Kontakt auf. Wir hatten Glück, denn genau an unserem Wunschtermin war es noch möglich, mit Nikos segeln zu gehen. Und ich muss sagen, wir haben keine einzige Sekunde diese Entscheidung bereut! Der Empfang war schon herzlich und locker und war nur der Beginn eines klasse Ausfluges. Wir haben viel über die Geschichte Kretas und das Leben der Griechen erfahren, konnten über Politik genauso reden wie lustig rumalbern! Nach einer Hafenrundfahrt und einem Exkurs in griechischer Geschichte ging es in die erste Traumhafte Bucht zum Ankern und Schnorcheln, ein wirklicher Geheimtip, man war fast allein im Wasser. Dann wurden die Segel gesetzt und es ging zu einer großen Insel mit Flugzeugwrack unter Wasser. Nach Umrundung der Insel und kurzem Schnorchelstop, gab es dann abseits der Touristenboote sehr leckere traditionelle Häppchen zum Essen und viel gute Laune. Auf dem Rückweg zum Hafen haben wir noch an einer weiteren Insel gehalten und auch hier wieder gab es einiges zu sehen. My husband arranged for us to go sailing with Nikos for my birthday. It was an awesome day spent swimming at some beautiful beaches and sailing around chania. Nikos was a great skipper, very easy going. He picked more secluded spots for us to swim at and made sure to avoid the crowds. He also prepared us a lunch using local produce. It was an amazing sailing trip and an incredible birthday.

Det var en helt fantastisk opplevelse som alle burde prøve, det er langt i fra det samme som å dra på tur med de større turbåtene da du her får en båt privat til deg og dine venner! Kaptein Nikos er en fantastisk mann som får deg til å føle deg veldig velkommen ombord i båten hans og du merker fort at han er en komfortabel person å være rundt. Han har gode kunnskaper om øyas lokalhistorie som han gjerne deler. Han har gode kunnskaper om seiling og generelt båt, så du vil føle deg trygg til enhver tid. Og for oss som ikke har seilet før så lærte han oss gledelig litt om det også! Alt i alt en hyggelig og morsom mann som du absolutt har det gøy sammen med! Oppsummert: Om du reiser til Kreta, anbefales denne dagsturen på det sterkeste! Du vil aldri angre!

We had an amazing day sailing, snorkelling and swimming with Nikos. He was the perfect host and took us to snorkel over a wrecked WW2 plane which was fascinating. Later he provided wonderful Cretan finger food, beer and wine for lunch. We were able to get as involved with sailing the boat as we wanted and we found the whole day really relaxing. Nikos gave us a lot of historical information about Crete's history and several helpful recommendations as to places to visit to beat the crowds. He and Andy even compared notes as to the best mountain bikes and where to go mountain biking in Crete. Overall, we had an amazing experience which I would definitely recommend wholeheartedly.

We had an amazing day (7/26) with Nikos on his boat! We had perfect winds and beautiful weather. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Nikos was a great skipper and provided great historical information, interesting political conversations and a great lunch. The trip is an experience you will keep in your memories forever. The sea is mesmerising and having the privilege to swim in waters away from the crowds is something rare in Chania. The skipper is a force of positive energy and really enjoys his job making us feeling very comfortable. The snacks treated to us are just right after the sailing and makes the day trip a perfect excursion. Just make sure you get nausea pills earlier if you are of those people who get sea sick. I am really sensitive but took my precautions and the trip was fantastic!

Captain Nikos was very friendly. He did a personalized tour for our family and it could not have been better! He taught us about sailing and let anyone who wanted to steer. Nikos worked around how long we wanted to snorkel. A highlight of our trip, we were wanting to do it again the rest of the time!

Myself and 4 friends went sailing with the Skipper Nikos. It was the most amazing chilled out, fun day. Nikos is a real character and makes the trip that bit more special. He let me take control of steering the boat which was a great experience. He is very relaxed about whether you want to just sit back and relax or actually get involved in the sailing. The food was great and we just sailed where we wanted, stopped and snorkelled when we wanted, swam when we wanted. I did this trip on the last day of my holiday. I would have gone again if I had had the time. Highly recommend.

we went to Chania Crete and we have had a wonderful day, with Capitan Niko they treated us like we are princes and kings it was amazing, we went to a island and we went out of the yacht when we came back the Capitan all ready have had for us amazing fingers Greek food, in my case I don't like Goat cheese and he prepared just for me a really good toasted bread with out this cheese. We went with 4 adults and 2 kids (5 and 9 years). We went out of the Harbor to a beautiful beach had a nice swim and then sailed a couple of hours along the coast side of Crete to an island and snorkeled for a 2nd World War Airplane wreck. Perfect! Had a light lunch back on the ship. The time went by far too fast! Thank you Niko! We enjoyed every second. By the way, Niko also knows the best restaurants around. Niko knows English and German and certainly Greek 😜

Geweldige dag gehad met Nikos. Mooie boot, Nikos weet veel over Kreta en Griekenland te vertellen en is zeer aangenaam gezelschap. Ook de kinderen vonden het een dag om nooit te vergeten, zeker ook omdat we een zeeschildpad gered hadden die met z'n poot vastzat in een visnet. Lunch, de tussenstops, alles was perfect! My husband and I spent the best day of our vacation sailing off of Hania, Crete with Nikos. He was extremely welcoming and sensitive to our needs all day. He provided a delicious snack during the afternoon and was a fabulous host all day. The information he shared about the history of the area was fascinating. The boat was very comfortable. All of our needs were met. We would go again in a heart beat. We loved it.

Me and my friends really enjoyed our day sailing trip with Nikos. He is a very experienced, friendly and relax captain, and also has a great knowledge about the history of Chania and the surroundings. The sailing boat is really great and spacious (12-13m). We were a big group but we had no problem staying all together on it. The sailing was very relaxing. We did a few stops. A first one near a small and beautiful private beach, a second one to do some snorkeling around the wrecking of a german plane which crashed during WW2, and a last stop near a small island with great snorkeling. We also saw a sea turtle on our way back to the port. Thanks Nikos for this sailing trip !

We have been on many day sails and must say that Nikos provided one of the best experiences we have had. His love for sailing and the island of Crete is contagious, proudly sharing his knowledge, traditions and suggestions to enhance our Crete visit beyond the sail. Nikos made everyone feel welcome, safe and relaxed while on the boat and even stayed in touch with us via email throughout the remainder of our 1 week stay on Crete answering our questions and providing other excellent suggestions to experience on the beautiful island. We put our day in Nikos hands due to his knowdlege about what to do down in the area of Chania. He delivered a perfect day with great food, swimming and local knowlege. We will definetly use Nikos later if we go to the area or if we are to go sailing in other areas.

What a great day, my wife and our two girls (9 & 13) had a fantastic time with Nikos. We sailed from 10am until 5pm, in that time we visited some quiet areas around Chania bay, stopped several times for a swim and chatted all day. Breakfast was some lovely croissants and lunch was a great selection of local foods and pastries,ideal for us and the kids. Nikos had a great sense of humour and told stories of pirates and the local history from 7000 years ago until the present day. We had a very relaxing, very interesting and fun day and would recommend Nikos to anyone, what a great way to end our two weeks in Crete.

My daughter and I had a great experience sailing with Nikos in Crete. I was looking for a sailing outing to relax the day after we'd hiked the Samaria Gorge. Reviews here were spot on - I booked with Nikos and we had a memorable day and one of our favorite experiences in our two-week trip to Greece. Nikos is the perfect host - we enjoyed visiting with him and laughed and talked like old friends. If you have the chance, treat yourself to a day off the Cretan coast with Nikos.

With Nikos we enjoyed a day on the sea. From the first minute we knew this day would be great. He 's a very relaxed man and enjoyable to talk to. After departure he informed us about the history of Chania port. Then we hedded for a swim near a deserted beach. He showed us how to catch the wind into the sailes. At a next stop near Kri Kri island (island where the Kri Kri goat is breeded) we snorkelled to a Messerschmitts (German Aircraft that crashed during WWII into the Aegean sea).For lunch he served us nice various mezedes. If you find yourself on the island of Crete, make a trip to Chania harbor for a day sail on this yacht. Captain Niko took us (my wife and self plus 6 friends from Scotland) on a fantastic sail into the Cretan Sea. We enjoyed amazingly clear water (bottom visible beyond 20 meters), warm waters, superb food (OK it was snacks but it's perfect) and a very special surprise at the bottom (I am not telling what). Snorkel gear is provided as is an in depth historical over-view provided by the multi-talented Niko. Plain and simple, you don't want to miss this. If you are on Crete, make the trip to Chania. It's well worth it.

My husband and I spent a day sailing along Chania's coast on NIkos's yacht in August, during our honeymoon, and it was truly the highlight of our holiday. Nikos, the skipper and owner, is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, funny and customer-oriented, speaking English and German fluently. His yacht is not only spotlessly clean, but also beautiful - as soon as you come on board, all you want to do is find a comfy space on deck, watch the horizon and listen to the waves. While a day sailing on a private yacht is of course more expensive than doing a 1-3h trip on one of the many tourist boats (with or without glass bottom) that leave from Chania's habour, it is worth every penny. Avoid the crowds and do not waste money on those crowded trips - the boats never leave until they are completely full, meaning you might have to wait around for ages, and are only for those who fancy feeling like a sardine in a tin. On the contrary, Nikos will tailor the day and route according to your wishes, and from the moment you step on deck you will feel relaxed, peaceful and a world away from the hassle of everyday life. Utter bliss!

We spend one sailing day with nikos in Chania Bay, it was a delicious day. Nikos's boat is great and well equipped, he also takes time to give some sailing "lessons" in particular to kids (we were 4 adults and 2 kids) and explain a little bit more the Cretan history. We left at 10 am and sail during the full day with 2 great stops in beautiful creeks perfect for snorkeling, swimming and have a nice lunch on board with cretan products. This day was a particular peacefull and quite day, some wind let us the opportunity to sail good. No hesitation nikos is the good captain...

In the old harbour of chania in the part where the sailingships are we rented this sailingboat with captain Nikos . We started in the old harbour of chania and Nikos showed us interesting buildings and told us historical facts of times long ago . We went to a nice little bays and islands to do some swimming and snorkling . He brought al kinds of drinks and fingerfood for lunch . We recommend this trip very much !
